Redesigning an industrial meter
I substantially refactored the existing schematic and PCB implementation for a residential electricity meter. Firmware and enclosure design were handled by other specialists.
Protecting the measurement path
The two-board architecture combines sensitive metering circuitry with 230 V power conversion, memory, communications, RTC and anti-tamper functions. I separated switching-power noise from measurement signals and implemented high-voltage isolation, including an 8 mm creepage barrier, copper-free zones and milled slots.
Production outcome
I reworked placement, routing and mechanical integration, then supported prototyping and manufacturing preparation. The redesigned product reached serial production.
